With the brown Hanoverian by Walt Disney-Darling, who had been bred by Horst Luehrs, Langen / GER and who is just named "Weini" with us, I started competing in 2003. I have only been 17 years-old however when we straightaway succeeded in the Grand Prix class. So we won the Grand Prix and the Special of Wiener-Neustadt and Achleiten and the Special of Wattens. At the European Championships in Hickstead / GBR, in which I was the youngest participant, we placed in the Grand Prix 25th and reached the second best result for the Austrian team. The seventh place in the team rankings meant the qualification for the Olympic Games of Athens / GRE.
In the following Weinrausch suffered from a long injury, but managed in 2006 with the victory in the Grand Prix of Weikersdorf ahead of Ulla Salzgeber / GER and Prince Finley a furious comeback.
After a tragic accident in the paddock in 2008, Weinrausch enjoyed his deserved retirement with us and he liked to be pampered with treats and pats. But in August 2015 his health got worse due to his older age. So unfortunately we had to put him down at the age of 23.
My bon vivant
Hanoverian
Bay gelding, born May 1, 1992
Breeder: Horst Luehrs, Langen/GER
His sire Walt Disney I, who was stationed in those days at Lower Saxony’s State Stud in Celle/GER, won his stallion performance test and placed in the 1989 German Championships for riding horses in Mannheim. His dam Doretta also gave birth to two full sisters of Weinrausch: St.Pr.St. Wayana and Wyomi. The latter is a broodmare at Gestüt Vorwerk in Cappeln/GER. The great granddam Abendflagge produced a medium (M) level show jumper named Morris (by Marconi). Abendflagge is also the granddam of an advanced (S) level show jumper name.
