DELLA CAVALLERIA OLD

Della Cavalleria OLD’s career in the dressage ring has been exemplary. Under her broodmare name, Dolce Vita M, she passed her broodmare performance test in Vechta/GER when she was three years old with outstanding results and was awarded State Premium candidate status. Her next station: the Oldenburg State Championships where she won respective tests in classes for young dressage horses in 2004, 2005 and 2006. At the 2004 Bundeschampionat in Warendorf/GER she added fifth place in the class for riding horses, sixth place in 2005 in the class for five-year olds and second place in 2006 in the class for six-year old dressage horses. "Well ridden and in absolute harmony" attested Christoph Hess, the commentator, Della Cavalleria OLD and her trainer Kira Wulferding.

In 2005 Della Cavalleria OLD and Kira Wulferding were on the German team for the dressage horse WC in Verden/GER. However, since my mother was a judge at the WC, the two were not able to participate.

The couple easily made it to advanced level and in 2010 they not only won the Weser-Ems Championships but also earned a ticket for the Burg Pokal Final. In 2011 they again qualified for the Burg Pokal.

In 2016 Della Cavalleria OLD straightaway won and placed in her first Grand Prix season in Stadl Paura, Munich / GER, Achleiten and Cappeln / GER. At the Olympic Games in Rio/BRA, which was her only fifth international Grand Prix, we just missed the rankings of the 30 top pairs to compete in the Grand Prix Special.

We discovered "Della" in Vechta and named her after the same named, monumental hippological work written by Georg Engelhard Löhneysen in 1609. This Baroque work is richly illustrated with over 300 fantastic wood and copper engravings that show scenes at horse shows, in stables, different breeds of horses and types of bridles. Löhneysen spoke out in favor of horse-friendly schooling methods, warned against demanding too much too early and saw music as an aid in schooling.

Della Cavalleria has been a member of the Oldenburg Verband's Sport Sponsorship Program and carries the “OLD” suffix with her name.

Her sire Diamond Hit is a half-brother of Sandro Hit on the dam’s side. He placed in dressage up to international Grand Prix with his rider, Emma Hindle/GBR.

Della Cavalleria’s dam St.Pr.St. Revue competed in the Brillantring of the 1998 Oldenburg Elite Broodmare Show in Rastede/GER among the best mares of her year and also represented Oldenburg at the German Broodmare Show in Warendorf/GER. She is not only the dam of Della Cavalleria OLD but also another horse named Don Rubico (by Don Gregory) who was sold at an auction.
