I am extremely pleased. Augustin OLD was very concentrated in the stadium, which is very beautiful but also a bit intimidating because it's so loud, and there were many highlights in the trot tour and especially the piaffe and passage and in the canter tour as well with the flying changes á tempi. We made a little mistake in the changes every two strides.
During the many showers we endured during preparation, Augustin was not distracted. There was also a tent with a warm-up ring which did protect us from the rain but the rain beating on the canvas was extremely loud and nerve-racking.
In such a field of world class competitors, I never expected to place and I am quite happy anyway. Augustin OLD did what he was supposed to and now I'm looking forward to the Special tomorrow. We will be riding at 4:15 p.m., the next to last couple in an extremely strong group that also includes Charlotte Dujadin/GBR and Valegro, Damon Hill NRW and Helen Langehanenberg/GER as well as Jerich Parzival and Adelinde Cornelissen/NLD.
Renate Voglsang and her Fabriano landed on 42nd place with 69.32 percent - and in the end, that meant eighth place for our Austrian team.
