Herning/DEN: Augustin OLD Just Great in the Special
Augustin OLD received 75.11 percent in the Special of the EC in Herning/DEN which meant tenth place.

Augustin's performance was even a bit better than in yesterday's Grand Prix and he stayed completely focused on the test in spite of some pretty loud sounds in the stadium. He stayed tuned in to me and put on a very self-assured presentation that was forward moving and expressive. I was extremely pleased and with the scores that judges gave us, they were obviously impressed too. I am super satisfied, especially since we are among the best 15 and will also be competing in the Freestyle Final on Sunday.
Just how nervous all of the riders in the Special were became especially obvious when all of the deemed favorites made errors in the test. In the end, gold went to the brand new team bronze winner, Charlotte Dujardin/GBR on Valegro (85.69 percent), silver to the new EC team gold winning Helen Langehanenberg/GER with Damon Hill NRW (84.33) and bronze to the team Vice European Champion, Adelinde Cornelissen/NED with Jerich Parzival (81.54).
My team colleague, Renate Voglsang, was awarded 69.24 percent for her good presentation with Fabriano, putting them on 27th place.
I would also like to congratulate Pepo Puch for his EC gold in the Para Dressage Grade Ib. Incompletely paralyzed from the waist down after a fall in an eventing test, he and his Fine Feeling received an unbelievable 76.13 percent and won the title again after EC and Olympic gold in 2011 and 2012. That is quite an achievement!!!
