Rio/BRA: High Ranking Visitor and "fit to compete"
We were able to welcome an eminent visitor in our stable area at the Olympic Horse Center in Deodoro/BRA:

Meanwhile, Della Cavalleria OLD passed the vet check without any objections. Two horses were sent to the holding box but were then admitted. Only the Swedish rider, Therese Nilshagen's Dante Weltino OLD was unfortunately not admitted because of a bruise on his hoof.
According to the starting order, we are the 40th couple in the Grand Prix and will ride into the dressage ring on Thursday at 11:45 local time (16:45 MEZ) . The Grand Prix - the first part of the team evaluation at the same time - begins on Wednesday at 10:00 local time.
The best 30 horses in the Grand Prix are then qualified for the Grand Prix Special, the second part of the team evaluation that will take place on Friday. On Monday next week, the top 18 will compete for the individual evaluation in the Grand Prix Freestyle.
After extremely exciting competitions, the first medals were awarded in Deodoro: Team gold in eventing was taken by the French team, ahead of the German and Australian teams. Individual gold went to Michi Jung/GER on La Biosthetique Sam FBW, silver to Astier Nicolas/FRA with Piaf de B’Neville and bronze to Philipp Dutton/USA on Mighty Nice. The one rider from Austria did not start.
